Do I recommend the CLOSER PROVOCATEUR AND FORLANE duo? Yes I do, but that comes with a couple of caveats: They are an excellent loudspeaker but they are not what most people will be familiar with. However, can I suggest that if you love music and want to get yourself closer to the artist in an emotional and real sense then you should try and get yourself in front of these! In essence, they are not going to be all things to all people.

Today I talk about the OGY Speakers from Closer Acoustics in Poland. These are tiny hand made gems with a single coaxial 4" driver that delivers pin point imaging and purity of vocals and instruments. These do not go super low in the bass but that is not what these speakers excel at nor is it why they are so special. The OGY's forte is delivering an intimate performance that is scary real. They are tiny, and in my opinion look lovely, hence they will fit into any room, although they will be the best match for smaller rooms (mine is 24 sqm and it was fine, a smaller room would be even better). The Closer Acoustics brand, already known to our Readers, not only offers several designs of this type, but in case of two of them, one can choose between a version with a “standard” (nothing ordinary about it really) driver and a one with an electromagnet, or a so-called field coil. For this review the manufacturer delivered the second model from the top, Allegra EX, and the EX designation marks use of „Excitation” drivers (as the French call field coils).
